“Stone says the conclusions the [IPCC] delegates
are trying to sum up are very clear. Climate change
is unequivocal. Temperature changes are very likely
due to human influence, we are seeing the impacts already,
they will get greater, and we have the tools to act.
“The scientific question about is this real or not has
been settled. And it is legitimately a threat. It’s
a threat to our civilizations, our humanity, our ecosystems
and the like, and only a fool walks away from a threat.””
By Dr. Courtney:
Yes, climate change is unequivocal. Climate has always
changed everywhere and it always will: this has been known
since the Bronze Age when - according to the Bible (ref.
Genesis 41: 34-36) - it was pointed out to Pharaoh by
Joseph.
There is no evidence to support the assertion that "Temperature
changes are very likely due to human influence".
Indeed, the assertion is not consistent with the fact
that global temperature has not again reached the high
it did in the El Nino year of 1998 despite a 4% increase
in atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration since then.
And the assertions that “we are seeing the impacts already,
they will get greater, and we have the tools to act” are
untrue.
1. No unprecedented climate changes have been seen recently
and, therefore, there is no evidence of any kind that
we are seeing impacts of AGW.
2. It is not possible to know whether or not the impacts
”will get greater” when those impacts are not known to
exist.
3. There are no known “tools” that could stop climate
change. Climate has always changed everywhere and it always
will.
And the remainder of the quotation is a construction
of more untruths built on the foundation of the three
falsehoods refuted in points 1 to 3 above.
